Q&A #10 - January 17th results

> February 8th, 2012 ---

Hello all and welcome to another Masters of the Universe Chronicles Q&A

Today Mike Lacey and Chris were joined by Mike Blanchard(TFG!Mike) from Geekcast radio.  Today was a very unusual podcast.  When the guys started recording, a lot of Mattycollector and Digital River stuff went down and they were left confused and somewhat annoyed.  Not that you would have heard that on the podcast before.  Is there any benefit for being a subscriber? Are the QC issues being sorted?  All this and more are on this Q&A.

The guys did manage to get through a few of the Q&As from around the net and hope that you all enjoy it. Make sure to follow the guys on Twitter Mike - @mlacey 91, Mike Blanchard - @TFG1Mike, Chris is @Vinto316 and of course the podcast is @MOTUChronicles.

> February 4th, 2012 ---

Welcome once again to another discussion on the Masters of the Universe Chronicles.

In this episode, Chris is again joined by the terrific two-some of Ryan Porter and Mike Lacey as the 3 guys sit down and go over the figures that were released by Mattel in 2011.  What were our highlights?  Were there any figures that didn't meet our expectations?  Was Ryan disappointed that there was no Ram-Man?  All these questions except the last one will be answered.  The guys briefly go over their wants and I don't wants from the upcoming 2012 schedule and there seems to be a bit of a pattern as well. This was recorded in December before the altered schedule was released!

What were your favourite figures of 2011?  Agree with what the guys say or disagree strongly?  Head over to the PopCultureNetwork forums and post there and let your voice be heard!

Check out Ryan's great work on the Comics Corner which is part of the PopCultureNetwork and you can get there by clicking - http://popculturenetwork.com/index.php?topic=vgl_comicrev

Hey All

Welcome to the first podcast of 2012 for the Masters of the Universe Chronicles. Today Mike and Chris don't have the Q&A from Mattel to go over but as I'm sure you are aware there were several problems that Mattel and Digital River had in the months of December and January.  Mike and Chris cover some of the following

1. Demo-Man Delay

2. Shipment delay for people who have 30th anniversary subscription

3. Delays in the figures until July time

All this and much more on this very long but very informative edition of Masters of the Universe Chronicles.  Many happy returns to Dylan Cook whose birthday was on this day we recorded 17th January and a major happy birthday to Mike whose birthday is on the 25th January.  Make sure to head to James Sawyer's YouTube page www.youtube.com/user/motuclassics.  He is doing a giveaway for James Eatock's Unofficial cartoon guide to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

After they have discussed the Xmas Special, the guys then talk about their Christmas memories regarding Masters of the Universe.  We also ask Mike about what Christmas is like with his young son Buddy loving Masters of the Universe and how it compares to his childhood.  Make sure to post in the PopCultureNetwork forums and let us know what you get from Santa or anyone else!

After the commercial break, Mike Lacey and Jukka Issakainen join Chris to talk about the different factions that exist in the MOTU and POP world....oh and there was a late arrival with Ryan Porter to the show but he had a good excuse.

Mike talks about the Snakemen, Jukka takes the Evil Horde, Ryan wants to join The Great Rebellion and Chris wants to be a heroic master!  The guys talk about how they can make the factions better, who they would like to see join their chosen factions and also their favourite figure of a certain faction member!

When the guys are promoting their various work, Ryan Porter promoted something fantastic called http://www.toysfortots.org/ which means you can make a donation and find out where you can drop off toys for less fortunate children this Christmas.  This is something i would highly recommend you do if you live in the USA.  Check out your local toy store in the UK and see if they are doing anything.

Vintage and Filmation - Classic Style

> October 20th, 2011 ---

Hey guys

While Mattel are taking a break from their bi-monthly Q&A section due to being at NYCC, this means there is no Q&A coverage from Mr Mike Lacey and Mr Chris Vint.  We do apologise about this but fear not as help was around the corner in another fellow MOTU Chronicles regular.

Dylan Cook sent an email asking why doesn't the show cover the older vintage figures and the Filmation characters as well.  Mike, Dylan and Chris all pick 3 vintage figures and 3 Filmation characters that they would like to see done in the Masters of the Universe Classics style. This is something that will be done to cover all the lines so why not submit your top 3 by heading to www.popculturenetwork.com, joining the forums and posting yours!!

If you want to join the Facebook page of Masters of the Universe Classics then head to - www.facebook.com/mastersoftheuniversechronicles or indeed Dylan's page www.facebook.com/mastersoftheuniverseclassics.  Dylan also has a website to showcase his art and the upcoming event mentioned near the end of the show - head to www.jurassicdorks.co.uk for that information. Lastly are you on twitter?  Follow Chris on Vinto316 and Chronicles on MOTUChronicles.

“The Rainbow Warrior” Commentary

> September 24th, 2011 ---

In another episode of our commentaries episodes, myself and He-Man cartoon expert James “Busta Toons ” Eatock commentate on “The Rainbow Warrior”. The majority of the story focuses around Prince Adam's mother Queen Marlena which of course we know as Captain Glenn thanks to the wonderful Matty figure. Was having Marlena as the star in this story a good one?  Well the episode commentary will divulge lots of information, mainly from Mr Eatock! So if you have the DVD, why not join us by popping it in your player. All you need do is press the play button on your DVD remote when we instruct you to! The audio of the episode is in the background so you will hear what we’re talking about regardless.

Episode 32- 2 Year show - Interview with Songster!

> September 15th, 2011 ---

Time sure flies by!  Masters of the Universe Chronicles is 2 years old!  Youll hear the different intro and thanks to everyone who sent in a birthday wish.  Chris has tried to play as many as possible.  After the intro, Chris just makes sure to thank people and drops a  bit of a bombshell!

This episode is marked by the interview of Doug Howard who is better know as Songster from the Masters of the Universe Power Tour!  Chris asks about the Power Tour, the possibility of a Songster Masters of the Universe Classics figure as well!  All interesting stuff!

The episode is a bit longer than usual and thats because we have a Chronicles Commentary with James Sawyer and Dylan Cook as the guys then talk about the first 3 episodes of the 200x show, "The Beginning".  Apologies for the audio problem from Mr Sawyer but stay tuned after the end theme for a bit of a chuckle.

Q&A #2 - August 15th discussion

> August 19th, 2011 ---

Hey all.  Welcome to the third member of the Masters of the Universe Chronicles family!

After the success of the last Q&A with M&C segment, Mike Lacey and I have decided to do this on a bi-monthly basis.  Bascially what we will do is discuss 5 of the Questions Mattel has sent out to the different sites on the 1st and 15th of each month.  If there is any other information, Mike will read this out and then we will talk about these.  This will be unedited and of course these are our thoughts on some of the questions that come out.

Thanks to The Great Rebellion for the easy access of the questions and will be utilising that on a regular basis.

If you want to ask Matty a question, use the fantastic PopCultureNetwork.com forums and you can do that by going there and clicking on the Ask Matty link - http://vglosers.conforums.com/index.cgi?board=toys.  Anything you want to pitch in, please email me at vintoman@popculturenetwork.com.

Major thanks to Mike for coming up with this segment!!

SDCC 2011 Reveals discussion

> July 27th, 2011 ---

Welcome back to another packed edition of Masters of the Universe Chronicles.  This time we have a lot to talk about since the San Diego Comic Con reveals went down.  To help me I had Rob Base talk to me about a few figures that he took a shine too and also regarding the MOTU comics that are making a welcome return.

Before we get to the next segment you will hear the audio from the Toy Masters documentary trailer.  Interesting stuff! Roger Lay Jr will be returning onto Masters of the Universe Chronicles so please send me your questions via email or on the facebook page and you can join his facebook page, just type in Toy Masters.

Up next is Dylan Cook and Mike Lacey.  They then cover some of the other figures as well as talking about the Masters of the Universe Classics Create a Character. Since this opened to the international fans, this is something that Dylan and I go over.

Last but by no means least is Wade Thurman who was at the convention and he goes over the atmosphere, what freebies he got as well!  Wade goes over the fan vote that was at the convention and more importantly what colour he voted for on a certain mythical dragon. Wade also sent me the audio he recorded from the Mattypalooza panel and it is in the end of the show after you hear "Let the power return" and runs for about 35 mins!  just a little bonus for you all!

Figure Discussion - Vintage to Classics - The lost episode!

> March 18th, 2011 ---

Welcome back for another Masters of the Universe discussion!  Quite some time ago, Pixel Dan and James "Roboto" Garnhart discussed our favourite figures so i thought since so many new Classic figures have been released, why not revisit it?

I was joined by my Not Mint In Box colleague and friend Rob Base, Dylan Cook and James Sawyer who both have Facebook MOTUC pages and the guy behind the camera on Radical Retro Turtle Toy Talk - Suine Hallock! This has been a 'lost' episode as it was recorded in August 2010!  Still this wont detract from the enjoyment of the guys discussing their favourite figures etc!

We talk about all the lines and when we get to discuss Mattycollector.com and Digital River, it kinda goes pear shaped and we spend a bit of time on it!  All our own opinions and hope that you enjoy this episode that brings back memories for us all!

I will be doing a discussion based on the 2002 figures soon as well as there is enough figures to discuss. If you are interested in joining in the discussion, then you can contact me.  Details are below.

As always you can contribute to the show by emailing myself on vintoman@popculturenetwork.com. contact me on skype where my username is Vinto316.  if im on there, feel free to chat to me.  Lastly you can join the BRAND NEW Masters of the Universe Chronicles Facebook page which is - http://www.facebook.com/?sk=lf#!/pages/Masters-of-the-Universe-Chronicles/169845723067513.  Leave your comments there or even head over to www.popculturenetwork.com and join the forums!  Plenty of ways to interact with me and the show so i look forward to hearing from you!

James Sawyer covers the 2nd issue of the DC comic in the Chronicles Comics Corner.  Suine Hallock comes up with a brand new pairing of the DC/MOTU 2 pack and its a great one!  Insightful stuff from Mr Hallock.  Mike Ficklin returns with Flickin through the pages with Ficklin and gives us a review of one of the Ladybird books as well as announcing the winner of the book "The Trap".  James "Roboto" Garnhart has an interview......with a difference.  it has to be heard to be believed!  Lastly James "Busta Toons" Eatock tries to get 10 facts done in 60 seconds!  What number will he conjour up today?

Popculturenetwork.com celebrated its first birthday this month so i thought what better way to capitalise on this than inviting some terrific PCN people on. "Pixel" Dan, Suine Hallock and Rob Base join me to talk about the MOTU Classic figures that came out in 2010.  This time the discussion is done with a difference!  How?  Tune in to find out!

Head over to the PopCultureNetwork Forums and have your say on what you would like discussed on the show.  Have some feedback for me or one of the contributors?  You can make YOUR thoughts heard by either leaving a voicemail on Skype where my username is Vinto316 or you can email me at vintoman@popculturenetwork.com.  Emails will be read out on air!  Love to hear your feedback!

Merry Christmas to all the Chronicles listeners and have a great Christmas and a safe and happy new year! Bonus Bios Round 2 -

> June 17th, 2010 ---

Welcome to you all

On Masters of the Universe Chronicles we have already covered some of the bios of the Classic line.  Since we had such fun doing it, we decided to do it again but with different bios….of course.

Rob Base from Not Mint in Box and Comic Nation TV returns as does James Sawyer begin_of_the_skype_highlighting     end_of_the_skype_highlighting who runs a couple of Facebook pages based on the Classic line and the 1987 movie.  James ‘Roboto’ Garnhart makes reading the bios so cool so he is a welcome addition again to the discussion.  Lastly Luke ‘Suine Hallock’ Nicholas who does Radical Retro Turtle Toy Talk on Pop Culture puts away his Turtle figurs and talks to us about the bios!

So what do we like about the bios, what dont we like?  Is Zodac a cop?  Man-At-Arms is a plumber in disguise?  Our thoughts on the newly announced Chief Carnivous figure and what WE would like to see shown at San Diego Comic Con!

Plus there is a special guest announced for Operation Retroshock airing on the 27th June!  If you are kid of the 80’s, you will not be disappointed and like Chronicles, you will ONLY find it at www.popculturenetwork.com!

Episode 11

> May 28th, 2010 ---

Welcome back to another Chronicles Episode!  We kick off with James 'Roboto' Garnhart and myself discussing a few things pertaining to Masters of the Universe Classics and his thoughts on the Chronicles Commentaries!  We also chat about our favourite 3 figures (figures chosen were correct at time of publishing :) ).  Some of the fans were kind enough to send me some voicemails.  Why not join them and send me a voicemail on skype, my username is Vinto316

The usual suspects return for the fan contribution part and that's something I want Chronicles to be known for so if you have any ideas why not contribute? Roboto interviews the Eternian Man At Arms, good old Duncan.  Mike Turner talks about the figures of Two-Bad and my Chronicles Commentary Colleague (Triple C) has another attempt at giving us 10 facts in sixty seconds.....will he succeed?

Its been on my computer since March but we have a discussion about the bios and thought it would be the perfect tonic following Toyguru's interview. This was Roboto's idea so he's the 'host' in this discussion.  There are a few people from Pop culture Network - and they are Scotty Cash from the Weigh In and a guy i teamed up with in doing a video about Sy-Klone, Mr Rob Base from Not Mint in Box.   Mr James Sawyer also helped us talk about our chosen bios!  He does the Masters of the Universe Classics and the 1987 movie page on Facebook.  It kinda breaks down at the end but all in good humour, no arguments here, just good fun had by all!

Don't forget to partake in the Chronicles polls monthly only on www.popculturenetwork.com and you can contact me via email vintoman@popculturenetwork.com.  Hope to hear from you soon!
